The Sumner Tunnel will be closed on weekends (excluding holiday weekends) from Summer to Fall 2024. The tunnel will close on Fridays at 11:00 PM and reopen at 5:00 AM on Mondays. During this time, traffic will be diverted through signed detour routes.
Significant traffic congestion and delays are expected throughout the city of Boston as a result of the tunnel closure. Bus trips along all our routes will be delayed traveling into and from Boston Logan International Airport. As a result of the delays to and from the airport, bus trips may also be delayed at South Station and all our other stops along the South Shore and Cape Cod.
Massport recommends travelers arrive 2 hours before domestic flights and 3 hours before international flights. Please plan ahead and take an earlier bus than previously scheduled.
