In Boston, Fourth of July is synonymous with one thing: The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. This annual celebration of our country’s independence comes complete with breathtaking sights and sounds that fill the summer night sky.
Boston Pops on 4th of July!
Founded as a branch of the Boston Symphony Orchestra in 1885, the Pops Spectacular is one of the most celebrated 4th of July fireworks shows in the US. Focusing on both classical as well as popular music the Pops Orchestra has performed around the world as headliners and backup for some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry.
The Fireworks Spectacular, takes place at the famous Hatch Shell on the Esplanade, and is actually a 2 night event. The first night is a full-fledged concert, while the second night is the main event complete with fireworks and of course, backed by the Pops orchestra. The show will open with the traditional Military fighter jet flyover in coordination with the “Star Spangled Banner”, then move onto the program – culminating in a spectacular 20-minute fireworks show.
